The Opportunity
This position works out of our location in Wiesbaden (Abbott GmbH) in the Abbott Diabetes Care division that is focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Process architect for all business processes, from creation to process optimization from a business perspective. This includes core processes such as text recognition, document data verification, e-invoice creation, and interface management with various roaming partners.
- Driving operational excellence by closing process gaps, resolving interface and system errors, and continuously improving operational processes and the customer experience in close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Major Accountabilities
- Process architect across all business reimbursement processes at Abbott and its external partners.
- Optimization and redesign of processes in close collaboration with all relevant internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Timely handling of document‑related topics and coordination of improvement measures with the responsible functional teams.
- Management of eKV creation processes, including prescription verification against statutory health insurance contracts, to ensure procedural compliance.
- Coordination of technical and process‑related actions to efficiently resolve interface issues.
- Support of accurate and timely invoicing, ensuring consistency between process outputs and billing requirements.
- Translation of statutory health insurance contract rules into clear operational processes, and reduction of processing errors through targeted optimization initiatives.
- Derivation of process improvements from clearing cases to sustainably prevent recurring disruptions.
- Central point of contact for complex inquiries related to reimbursement, interfaces, and operational workflows.
- Collaboration with internal teams to correct deviations originating from upstream processes.
- Oversight of the end‑to‑end supply workflow, with a focus on RSP status management and the handling of clearing cases.
- Development of well‑founded recommendations that consider both financial impact and contractual requirements.
- Management of a broad network of internal stakeholders (e.g. Market Access) and statutory health insurance partners to ensure aligned processes and expectations.
- Identification of trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities based on data‑driven insights and/or market standards.
- Conducting benchmarking activities and applying best practices as an integral part of the Business Architect role.

Qualifications:
- Adequate university degree in economics, business administration, business information technology or more than 5 year working experiences of the major accountabilities
- Fluent in German and English
- At least 5-7 years’ experience in one of the following industries: medical devices/pharma, e-commerce, or payer
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in e-commerce, supply chain, and customer experience area with experience in building up and use of IT solutions
- Understanding of German reimbursement system
- Proven project and process management skills (Classic and Agile)
- Action and solution-oriented Team-player who takes on accountability
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management skills
- Experience in reimbursement & functions of pharma / medical device or related functions of payers / disease management organizations (market access or related functional areas)
- Previous experience or exposure to IT industry (e-commerce, Salesforce, etc.) and working with international teams is an advantage
- In depth knowledge of the German reimbursement system
- Hands on experience / understanding of diabetes and blood glucose measuring business
- Experience in building products
- Certified Project Management Trainings (e.g. Scrum, PMP, Six Sigma)
- Engaging personality able to develop sustainable relationships and to effectively communicate with internal & external stakeholders Excellent MS Office skills
