Packaging Technology Engineer (all genders)

Are you looking to actively shape packaging technology and ensure that pharmaceutical products successfully reach the market worldwide?
In this role, you will work at the interface of engineering, production, and quality, contributing your expertise to the development and implementation of robust, compliant packaging solutions in an international environment.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You develop packaging concepts for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging and accompany them from initial idea through implementation
  • Optimising existing packaging solutions across all packaging levels is part of your core responsibility
  • You create, maintain, and continuously improve technical and regulatory packaging specifications
  • You actively contribute your expertise to launch and transfer projects, working closely with cross‑functional teams
  • The qualification and validation of packaging processes are key elements of your role
  • You ensure reliable technical implementation through close collaboration with external suppliers, machine manufacturers, and contract packers
  • You work closely with internal interfaces such as Product Teams, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and international Bayer affiliates

WHO YOU ARE

  • You hold a completed degree in packaging technology, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
  • You bring several years of professional experience in packaging technology, ideally within the pharmaceutical or another regulated industry
  • Willingness to travel internationally on a project basis (approximately 3–4 times per year) comes naturally to you
  • Your strong technical understanding enables you to assess and further develop packaging solutions with confidence
  • Experience working with technical specifications, documentation, and packaging processes is part of your profile
  • You are confident using MS Office and common IT systems in your day‑to‑day work
  • You work in a structured, reliable manner and demonstrate a high level of self‑organisation
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset allow you to work effectively in an international stakeholder environment
  • You are willing to continuously develop further and are motivated to grow both professionally and personally
  • Fluent English skills (written and spoken) as well as good to conversational German skills round off your profile
