
Head of Clinical Development Operations - Eye Health
The Position
Ready to take the lead in shaping the future of Eye Health?
We are looking for a visionary Head of Clinical Development Operations – Eye Health to join us as a key member of our Clinical Development Leadership Team. In this role, you will take ownership of the global implementation of clinical development programs for Eye Health products. Beyond execution, you will play a pivotal role in defining the strategic positioning of Eye Health and driving the planning and delivery of programs and studies within this therapeutic area.
Tasks & responsibilities
- You provide strategic leadership for the implementation of Global Clinical development programs for Eye Health products.
- By leading the group of Clinical Development Operations Leaders, you ensure the deployment of studies within budget, timelines, and resources, while overseeing the end‑to‑end execution of global clinical trials and ensuring full regulatory and GCP compliance.
- You build and lead high-performing clinical operations team, collaborating cross-functionally and representing clinical operations leadership.
- In addition, you lead regional allocation, as well as CRO management and selection.
- You drive operational innovation by contributing to the implementation of innovative devices, novel endpoints and new methodologies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in life science with long-term experience in clinical development, higher education level (PhD or MD) preferred
- Strategic clinical operations leadership experience is required to guide complex global programs effectively
- Expert knowledge of Phase 2–3 trial execution, with a strong preference in ophthalmology, including a deep understanding of endpoints, imaging modalities, functional assessments, patient populations, site capabilities, and the unique operational challenges of trials in retinal disease indications.
- Proven ability in vendor management and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless operational delivery
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and GCP standards to maintain compliance across all clinical activities
- Strong capability in proactive decision-making combined with a quality-driven mindset to anticipate challenges and deliver solutions
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills to foster team spirit and lead by example
