Boehringer Ingelheim is hiring a

Management Trainee Finance & Controlling

Ingelheim am Rhein, Germany

The Position

We are committed to develop pioneering therapies and health solutions that make a real difference in patients’ lives. With 54,000 colleagues worldwide, we offer the strength of a global player while preserving the culture and sense of community of a family-owned company.

We want our people to thrive, supported by competitive salaries, state-of-the-art technology, long-term job security, and a work environment that fosters both, personal and professional well-being.

We are now looking for motivated talents to join our two-year trainee program in Finance & Controlling!

Our program is designed to prepare you for your future role as a leader or an expert within Finance & Controlling. Beyond that, you will be able to connect to other highly creative trainees from several functions around the globe through our platform DISCOVER.

During the two-year program you have got the chance to rotate through several departments such as Global Business Services, Corporate Finance, Finance Germany, or Purchasing. Each rotation is supposed to last four to five months.

At the start, we’ll jointly identify which rotations match your interests best. Your journey begins at our Ingelheim site, where you will explore our Controlling tools, gain insights into our systems, and gain hands-on experience in budget planning and long-term forecasting. From day one, you’ll be immersed in real business topics. You will also lead your own projects, tackling questions like: Where can we improve? Where do we need new processes? Your ideas and creativity truly matter here. Once you’ve mastered the fundamentals, you’ll contribute to larger initiatives, for example, supporting the international rollout of new digital tools. Afterwards, an international rotation awaits you. You may work in Dubai, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Amsterdam, or another exciting city. We always try to accommodate your preferences when selecting your destination.

Throughout the program, you’ll meet many new colleagues, and you will be supported by a mentor from senior management. Aside that, the trainee circle regularly meets senior leaders from different business functions for exchange, leadership talks and networking.

This position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities

Throughout the program, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with leading experts, including teams working on future driven areas such as Artificial Intelligence. Along the way, you’ll benefit from extensive training opportunities in areas like change management, negotiation, and leadership.

Beyond your day-to-day work, you’ll be part of a vibrant trainee community that regularly comes together for social and afterwork activities. One of the annual highlights is the “Trainee Days” event, which rotates between Ingelheim, Vienna, and Biberach.

We’ll also support you with practical matters such as visa arrangements, finding housing, and settling in. And once you’ve successfully completed the two year program, we’ll work closely with you to identify the position within the company that best matches your strengths and ambitions.
