The Role

Reporting to the Sr. Business Unit Director, Cell Therapy, the Cell Therapy Account Management Lead will provide strategic leadership to the Cell Therapy Account Managers (CTAMs) in Germany. This role is accountable for building and leading a high‑performing team that strengthens Kite’s leadership position in Cell Therapy, differentiates the portfolio, and partners effectively with internal and external stakeholders to advance excellence in CAR‑T delivery.

In addition, the role ensures the effective execution of referral strategies, enabling community oncology and hematology centers to identify and refer appropriate patients for CAR‑T therapy in a timely and compliant manner.

As a core member of the local Kite leadership team, this position is responsible for delivering commercial objectives through excellence in account planning, disciplined execution, and industry‑leading customer service.

As leader of the CTAM team, approximately 35–40% travel is required to build and sustain strong relationships with key accounts, supporting Kite’s continued establishment as the leader in cell therapy.

How you will help to ‘Create Possible’

  • Lead, develop, and retain a high‑performing team of Cell Therapy Account Managers (CTAMs) across Germany.

  • Hold accountabilities for all national, customer‑facing commercial activities, ensuring achievement of product, market, and OPEX targets; ensure robust operating mechanisms and KPIs are in place to enhance collective understanding of own performance, market dynamics and competitive activity.

  • Develop and initiate strategies that generate new business and enable CTAMs to onboard, qualify, and develop treatment centers to ensure the safe, compliant, and successful delivery of CAR‑T cell therapy

  • Provide strategic recommendations on customer engagement approaches (incl. referral strategies) and lead the development of cross‑functional account plans with clearly defined goals, tactics, accountabilities, and performance metrics and a special focus on effective execution.

  • Establish and sustain trusted, high‑impact relationships with key opinion leaders and key accounts at both regional and national levels to ensure exceptional service delivery

  • Build strong cross‑functional partnerships, particularly with Marketing and Medical, to deliver actionable customer insights, refine customer‑facing strategies, and provide timely, high‑quality insights to Business Unit Director and German Kite Leadership Team on account trends, market dynamics, performance trends as well as opportunities and risks.

  • Contribute meaningfully to forecast planning and strategic execution, oversee operating sales budgets with close expense control, and implement robust performance management systems (incl. activity KPIs, regional sales goals and incentive schemes) to assess sales force effectiveness and the quality of account plan execution.

  • Lead and advise on core people‑management topics, including performance, compensation and incentive management, recruitment and hiring process, and other HR matters, while owning the people development agenda and identifying lateral and vertical growth opportunities.

  • Lead the execution of commercial strategies at congresses and meetings, including booth staffing, high‑value customer interactions, and attendance at scientific symposia, and translate congress insights into strategic recommendations and actions.

  • Create and foster a strong culture of compliance, ensuring adherence to all SOPs, laws and compliance requirements

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • 10+ years of German pharmaceutical industry experience with a proven track record of success in field-based leadership roles ideally in the field of oncology, hematology or cell therapy and with strong experiences of launching new products as well as portfolio management.

  • Proven leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, to inspire, to champion change, drive innovative thinking and influence across functions as well as excellent communication skills to develop robust professional relationships both orally and in writing; high language proficiency in German and English required.

  • Demonstrated strong people leadership competences with high emotional intelligence, as well as cross-functional leadership to foster collaboration at eye-level, to build, lead and inspire teams in complex environments and to create followership by fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, innovative problem‑solving and team spirit.

  • Good analytical skills, business acumen and feeling for numbers, demonstrated by the ability to analyze, interpret, and apply data to inform sound decision‑making.

  • Experience in managing large, complex accounts especially in the hospital setting including strategic planning, problem‑solving, and disciplined execution.

  • Strong pharmaceutical market expertise, particularly with regards to health economy, access and reimbursement, product lifecycle management, as well as relevant laws and regulations; knowledge of the oncology/hematology landscape as well as established relationships with oncology, hematology, and stem cell transplantation (SCT) key opinion leaders and hospital‑based stakeholders are advantageous.

  • Self-starter mentality, taking personal ownership and ability to navigate through ambiguity and change while remaining focused and prioritizing carefully with the willingness to operate hands‑on and a strong sense of urgency in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Graduate degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, Health Economics, or a related field required; postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA, PhD) preferred.

  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Office products and outstanding written as well as verbal presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • High fluency in German and English, both orally as well as in writing.

  • Up to two days per week national travel for customer visits is required, as well as on demand personal attendance in Munich-based German headquarter and some international travel to conferences and global/regional offices.
