Commercial Strategy and Operations Director - ViiV Germany & Switzerland

- As a member of the leadership team of ViiV Germany and Switzerland (Hub LT), this role is responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction for the Performance and Operations team in line with ViiV's global strategy.
- The main objective of the role is to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy and operational plan to optimize access to antiretroviral (ARV) treatments, ensure sustainable pricing throughout the product lifecycle, and add value to ViiV's current and future portfolio in Germany.
- The role has a specific focus on supporting the delivery of the ViiV Europe Ambition in ViiV Germany and Switzerland and will lead a team responsible for turning insights from multiple data sources into actions which accelerate uptake for our two priority products . This team is the engine which inspires and mobilises Marketing, Sales, and Medical teams to prioritise activities based on data-driven insights on customer, account, national, regional and global level.
- By providing leadership, expertise and strategic direction, the role ensures that P&O activities effectively support business objectives at multiple levels and functions and contribute to sustainable business development.

Strategic Leadership

Leading on integration of LOC and Europe performance management and reporting processes (KPIs, dashboards, etc.), including data validation and analyses, for the purpose of action-oriented performance meetings and organisational focusing to improved competitiveness.

Continuously improve LOC Monthly Performance Review Process (MPR) and Europe Quarterly Performance Reviews (QPR) and with clear & aligned lead and lag KPIs across the LOC teams.

Establish clear link between Ambition, Business plan & Monthly Performance Reviews, and align performance management across the LOC (Multi-skilled team meetings – MSTs, local Performance meetings, etc.) enabling tiered accountability, objectives setting and escalation management.
Market insights

Lead on market research deployment as well as targeted research projects which would enable collection of deeper insights on market and customers.

The role sits in the Hub Management Team and is accountable for performance tracking and visualisation, market insights, omnichannel (customer experience (Cx), Sales prediction models, etc.), digital data & analytics (DDA), and capability interventions.
DDA

Lead DDA team by ensuring delivery of key projects at pace and with measurable business impact, in a balanced BAU & experimental approach. Advanced skills in data validation, visualization, and interpretation for decision-making.

Execution excellence partnering and orchestration of all commercial owned analytics as account performance based Sales Force target setting and incentives as well as provision of optimal analysis tools (including on Power BI).

Support and coordinate deployment and use of systems and tools (Power BI, integrated MST dashboards, etc.) that support the performance of the organization, in close collaboration with ViiV Global Commercial Strategy and Tech.
Capability Development

Accountability for ensuring effective skills and capability training, ensuring we remain agile in responding to business needs

Utilise data and internal knowledge to focus and prioritise capability interventions for each function.
Continuous improvement

Mobilise and energise the organisation through data-driven-story telling and narrative which stimulates recognition of data-based-insights for performance improvement.

Ensure consistency of performance conversations (format and content) across businesses and teams, but retain flexibility depending on business

Basic Qualification & Skills required:

Professional experience in pharmaceutical industry in Marketing, Sales, Market Access
-
Entrepreneurial and operational leadership capabilities & proven experience with ability to translate product/portfolio vision into attractive and consistent delivery plan for the local team.

Strong experience pharmaceuticals/healthcare, new product launches, preferably in specialty care business
-
Strong project management skills.
-
Ability to analyse complex data.
-
Strong business acumen record, with risk-taking abilities, as well as a strong performance delivery and goal orientation.

Digital fluency: Leverage, relevant, and tailored digital solutions to enable high-impact execution and free up time for deeper, more strategic, and creative thinking

Change management principles to drive an innovation culture: Guide internal teams, including matrix structures, through organizational transformations, and driving change in external stakeholders to align with company strategy to achieve behaviour change that improve patient outcomes.

Location and Working Model
This role is based in Munich, Germany. The working model is hybrid with a regular on-site presence required for team leadership and cross-functional collaboration. Expectation is 3 days onsite per week.
