Establishing a robust Strategic Capacity Management (SCM) capability is a top priority for Johnson and Johnson MedTech. With good business momentum, we're growing! As such, we need to ensure our network capacity can support patient needs in the long term. Imagine being at the center of the strategic planning process, interacting with Global Strategic Marketing (GSM) to understand and improve the Long-Range Portfolio Plans (LRPP), which then feed the Strategic Capacity Management (SCM) process and models, to support Value Stream Management (VSM) and Network Strategy and their various processes. You'll be at the core of where strategy is analyzed and defined, designed for current volatility, looking into scenarios, financial trade-offs and risk mitigations.

About the role:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Capacity Management , will drive the SCM process, embedded within the Wound Closure & Healing (WCH) organization and reporting to the LRPP/SCM Business Process Leader, within the Integrated Business Management (IBM) team, which is part of the global MedTech Supply Chain organization. This position will lead & orchestrate the WCH SCM process across multiple stakeholders across the globe, drive and evaluate long term supply chain scenarios in the 2 to 10 year horizon. The process is key to identifying critical demand and supply situations, and providing insights and recommendations so that major business decisions can be driven by Value Stream Leaders. These decisions can range from small operational changes to free up "trapped capacity", to proposals of multi-million dollar investments.

Key Responsibilities:

People

  • Seamlessly integrate with the various business stakeholders who are accountable for providing modeling inputs, as well as internal customers who will leverage conclusions of SCM models.
  • Lead process improvement efforts with a Customer first mentality, generating trust with internal customers and using technology to reduce lags in process cycles and speed to deliver data/analysis.
  • Lead with Problem-solving approach, finding middle ground between different partners, to bridge gaps in data availability and create feasible models/scenarios

Process:

  • Drive Strategic Planning governance: Drive the annual process cadence and communications. Demonstrate influence without authority, master executive communication and internal networking outside of PLAN (Engineering, MAKE, Commercial, Global Marketing).
  • Proactively identify business opportunities related not only to capacity issues in our network, but also to areas such as new product launches, new technology requirements, business continuity planning, regulatory validations, inventory/cycle time management, etc.
  • Apply general management principles, by being able to discuss topics that are related to capacity implications, such as Procedure Revenue Forecasts, Gross Profit, Market Share, Inventory, as well as implications by Market/Region, Phase In-Phase out strategies and assumptions, E&O, etc.

Tools

  • Own SCM models in the OMP platform, scenario generation and reporting platform.
  • Champion the adoption of large-data modeling tools like Python/R/Alteryx, to ensure the ability to scale efficiently, while always seeking ways to advance digital maturity.
  • Own PowerBI reporting.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent University Degree required; Focused degree in a STEM-related field, including engineering, logistics, supply chain, computing, finance, economics related field preferred.

Experience & Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Relevant team leadership experience in a logistics, planning and/or manufacturing environment; within the Medical Device or closely related industry
  • Proven expertise building process models, to demonstrate flow / constraints
  • Familiarity with simulation and optimization models and tools

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Theory of Constraints and/or System Dynamics, with experience in practical applications.
  • Working knowledge of tools like OMP, Anaplan, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis or Jonova. Ability to train others to validate and/or challenge models and assumptions.

Other:

  • Requires up to 30% travel

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
